There is something about Alexa and Neil that still has us going on about how much we love them. When we first met them last January over coffee, they had just closed on their first home, Neil was leaving to return to his service with the Marine Corps the next day, and Alexa was excited to distract herself with wedding planning. I can't imagine what a whirlwind it must have been for them! We were happy to hear of his return home for good in October and had a great time chatting about how they met in high school, their adorable dogs and of course wedding plans when we met for drinks a couple weeks later. With all the talk of Marines, fire fighters, big trucks and country music, we knew it was going to be a fun, inspiring day.
We split up to begin the day - Naomi with the girls at the church, and Larissa with the guys at their home. From the start, everything was perfect. Alexa's attention to detail and the expert planning of Mary Bradley and her team were absolutely amazing and such a pleasure to work with. The flowers from Monday Morning Florist, all the dresses, and hair and makeup by Maria and Heather of New Beginnings were all gorgeous.
After a sweet ceremony and some photos outside the church we headed to the locker at Hopewell Valley Central High School where these high school sweethearts used to meet between classes. The students and staff at the school were thrilled to see them and wish them well. Then, to the beautiful Rose Bank Winery in Newtown, PA, where we were absolutely blown away by the stunning decor. After staring in awe for a few minutes at Mary's decorating mastery we headed outside with our bride, groom and their wedding party to catch the sunset. It was absolutely perfect! While we strolled around the grounds taking photos, Alexa and Neil couldn't resist stopping to say hello to the adorable sheep and goats calling to them. So cute!
And then... the party! And what a party it was. All country music with everyone, including ourselves, singing along to every song. Sound Choice DJ did a great job of keeping the dance floor full all night. Emily's Cafe and Catering provided the delicious buffet dinner along with the cake and gorgeous pies. There were some heartfelt and hysterical speeches from their family and friends, stories of a long wait and hard work along with more entertaining bits involving a dumpster and a younger brother. ;) And the most touching moment of the night was when Alexa sang Carrie Underwood's "Mama's Song" to her beautiful, teary eyed mom. And of course, as she's known to do, Naomi cried too.
Alexa and Neil, we can't tell you enough what a wonderful day we had with you and consider it such a privilege to have been your wedding photographers. Wishing you many years of love, peace and joy.
