Kim and Chris's wedding was such a pleasure to be a part of. Everything about the day was just so beautiful! They could not have had more perfect October weather, Kim was absolutely gorgeous, and the amazing barn at Old Bethpage Village Restoration was just dreamy. When I arrived at her home, Kim was in the midst of having her make-up done by the very talented Meagan Nordt after having her hair done by Linda of HilIghts Salon in Lyndhurst, NJ. Both did such a lovely job. From there I started to see all the touching little details that had been so thoughtfully woven into the day. When photographing Kim's dress from the Alfred Angelo Disney Bridal Collection, she asked me to be sure to get a shot of the heart stitched into the lining from one of her dad's old shirts. And her bouquet (which was a DIY beauty!) had photos of her grandfathers tied onto the stems in little charm frames. Doesn't it all just make you tear up a bit? Love it. And there's more!
A bit of a drive (and the bride narrowly missing being caught in a parade!) brought us to an adorable little church in Floral Park, NY where Kim's grandmother was the pastor. And her dad, who is also a pastor, was the officiant. So of course there was not a dry eye in the house, especially when Chris went over to the piano to play a piece he had specially composed for Kim on their wedding day.
After the lovely ceremony we headed to the old village for photos with the newlyweds and their bridal party. All the old buildings were such fun backdrops for our photos. What photographer doesn't love an old red barn?! :) Everyone was a lot of fun and Kim and Chris were perfect models for me. Between them and the gorgeous weather I could have hung out taking pictures with them for hours! On to the party in the AMAZING barn. The interior is just so fantastic. Loved it! And of course Kim had all the perfect rustic details to match. And one final special detail was the vintage topper on the cake from Veriellas Bakery. It had been her grandparents cake topper! So fun.
It was a great party complete with sparklers and root beer floats and I loved every bit of it.
Congratulations Chris and Kim!!!
